The Mad Lab has now released and we have a store sale going on as well...if anyone has any questions at all, please let me know and hope you those of you who purchase the set enjoy it as much as we did in making it. This was a render I did in Poser of the set... (just straight render with the lights etc) with IDL, AO, and IBL on it.

Nice — looks like you've got some kind of Tesla coil in there. What about a Jacob's Ladder, though, you can't have too many sparky zappy things in a proper Mad SCIENCE!!! lab... :ahhh:
I really like the steampunk feel to it (at least for me it looks steampunk). Also hoping you can name it something other than Madlab as there is already a line of products by that name.
well it is a lab made by mad people. :P (mad in a nice way)
We just named it The Mad Lab....there wasn't anything here with the name all ready (Only a Mad Scientists Lab) which isnt the name of this one so it was fine.
Ours is called The Mad Lab and the other is called Mad Scientist Lab
If you mean something similar to this: http://electricmuseum.com/wp-content/uploads/jacobs_ladder_1.jpg we did have that in the one machines but then when I textured it I went away from that (sorry :( ) and did something more crazy and branchy though the way the template is for that area, it would be easy enough to make it just a reg Jacob's Ladder with a small texture swap. :)

Would suggest maybe some kind of giant aquarium off to one side, too, for aquatic creature options. Could see how that might not play well with electricity, though. :)

Yeah nothing for aquatics, it was meant more for mechanical and electrical and we didn't want to fry the poor fishes hehe :) That said the pieces are all modular so can be used with other sets and other scenes etc and yes it is somewhat of a steam punk feel which is what we were going for (and oddly what we seem to be prone to for better or for worse LOL) There are these tubes included that atm have the electrical bits in them (the ones that can be used as Jacobs Ladder pieces) that could be used with aquatics as well possibly though that wasn't the initial intention :)

Its too late to rename it now as it is due to release and honestly it is not the same name as the others so it should be more then fine. :) We did look before naming the pack but sadly some of the sets didn't come up in the search under Mad or Lab or Mad Lab. That said, it is names what it is and changing the name would only cause more confusion I fear not less. Can't really call it anything that what it's been called really as that is in fact what it is :) Kinda like The Dungeon, The Control Room, The Cargo Hold (we can see we are so very original with names...LOL ...we just name what it is) Anyway, I do appreciate you bringing it to my attention, though at this point it isn't something that could be changed without a complete rework of the entire pack which I don't think is necessary since there isn't anything that has the same name that I can see. I am truly sorry for any confusion or irritation by this though :( Sorry :(
